Psalm 122 looks forward to the time when the Prince of Peace will usher in the ultimate fulfillment of peace—not only in Jerusalem, but throughout the entire world. At that time, Jerusalem will truly be a city of peace, and God’s people will have an important role in helping establish and maintain that peace. As we look toward the Feast and the meaning of the fall festivals, Psalm 122 reminds us that we are preparing for a future when God’s way of peace will fill the earth.
