Satan, also known as the adversary, has many devices - or schemes and techniques - he uses to tempt and test us. His desire is to devour us as a prowling lion, but we must resist him. The account of Jesus Christ's temptations in Matthew 4 provides examples of how we can be successful in thwarting Satan's temptations.
