There are situations described in Scripture and occurring today in which Satan or his demons have taken up “residence” in a person's life through intention, ignorance, mistake, or force. The Bible refers to this as demonic possession. The results are devastating, even when the physical effects may seem minimal.

There are also serious mental health conditions in the areas of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and Alters (historically referred to as Multiple Personality Disorder), as well as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, that we need to address. These and other mental health conditions may or may not involve demonic possession at all, but should be understood in the context of Scripture.
