In my Bible Study today, I’m going to dissect 2 Timothy 3:16, examining it in light of how significant it is that we have the Bible in the English language, arguably the most dominant language in the world. And then trace the history of how the Bible came to be in English, noting that it was translated by a few men from the original Hebrew and Greek languages, under intense persecution, so that English speaking peoples could understand the meaning and intent of the most important book ever written. The story of how the Bible came to be in English is sobering, but very inspiring.
