A Prophecy for Caylee Anthony

Written by Cecil Maranville

Casey Anthony mugshot from Wikimedia CommonsWhat happens to innocent children like Caylee Anthony, who died before age 3? What does Bible prophecy say about justice—and hope—for her?

Caylee Marie Anthony was born Aug. 5, 2005, and she died presumably on June 16, 2008, the last day she was seen alive. After her mother, Casey Anthony, was declared “not guilty” of the murder by a jury, there has been a chorus of anguished cries, demanding “justice for Caylee!”

Justice for Caylee

What does “justice for Caylee” mean to you? I assume that to most people angrily shouting these words, they mean imprisonment or death for her mother. Frustrated with the trial’s outcome, some people are reacting in a way that borders on vigilantism, threatening even the jurors.

I’m not arguing that the mother is innocent. I personally don’t know if she is mentally ill (the narcissism is impossible to miss), whether she is guilty of negligent homicide or of outright murder—or if she had nothing directly to do with ending Caylee’s life. Maybe only one or a few people know the truth.

I submit that the greatest “justice” for Caylee would be that, instead of dying even before she reached the age of 3, she might come back to life! I think the greatest justice would be for her to have the opportunity to grow up, to taste the good things life has to offer throughout her developing years and then, as an adult, eventually to make her unique mark on life.

A specific prophecy about Caylee?

Did you know that there is a specific prophecy in the Bible about Caylee? Of course, it is not about her directly, but it is about infants who die prematurely. And with it is the promise that those infants, who seemingly died without hope, will literally come back to life to experience all that I indicated above. How hopeful!

It’s a startling prophecy, but I have to warn you that it will challenge some of the religious beliefs you have assumed to be true—including the idea that immediately upon death, the dead go to heaven or to hell. Challenging these long-taught myths is the gospel Jesus preached, called the gospel of the Kingdom of God. Jesus’ message wasn’t new (although He greatly amplified it), but rather a continuation of the message God had been giving to humankind from the beginning.

Read the prophecy of the world Jesus Christ will make possible:

“‘For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people a joy. I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in My people; the voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

“‘No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; for the child shall die one hundred years old, but the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed. They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, and My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble; for they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

“‘It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,’ says the LORD” (Isaiah 65:17-25, emphasis added).

Not too late for Caylee?

But isn’t this wonderful world to come too late for Caylee? Not at all! Part of the gospel includes God’s guarantee to bring back to life all who died prematurely, who never lived life. This, too, although quite plainly presented by Christ, may shock your belief system. Read of it in “How Many Resurrections Are There?”

Anguished over the death of an innocent child like Caylee, many people who are unaware of what the Bible promises actually become angry with God, demanding to know why He allowed an innocent person to become a victim. We can help you understand this too. See “Why Does God Allow Evil and Suffering?”

Cecil MaranvilleSo, hope is not lost for little Caylee Anthony—or for the countless innocents like her who died prematurely. They will yet be rescued; those who have done evil will be punished. But those who truly repent will be rehabilitated. We encourage you to read more about what Jesus taught in The Mystery of the Kingdom.
