Reason for the Passover Sacrifice of Christ

John 3:16 tells us Christ died for sinners so they would not perish. The penalty of ceasing to exist for all eternity is the same for the so-called “white” lie and for the worst unrepentant sinner who will have ever lived. The key words to understand concerning the Passover are “blood,” “new covenant” and “remission.” When understood, we can comprehend the pervasive nature of sin and the new covenant blood sacrifice that liberates mankind from the captivity to sin.
