Three Levels of Obedience

Why do we humans do what we do? What motivates us to respond to guidance we’re given, or reject it? Some studies seem to back up some biblical principles: It appears human obedience often results from three different “directions.” Either we follow instruction from compliance (accepting and then acting on it), from identification (others we like are doing it, so we do too) or from internalization (we think about it, study it, realize it’s true and “make it our own” path of life). Which of those three ways describes you or me?
