This presentation at the YALW is taken from Luke 21:36: “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” What did Jesus Christ mean by this statement, and who were the intended recipients of such an admonition? As a result of this phrase from Luke’s account of Christ’s prophetic teachings in the Olivet prophecy, we understand that the generations at the time of the end would be subject to being distracted from the realities of the times they would live in. What can a Christian do to stand strong during the troublesome times ahead?
